Results from 2012 Prostate Cancer Screening
Sky Ridge Medical Center, in conjunction with PCEC (Prostate Cancer Education Council), held a prostate screening event on Sept. 20, 2012. Both digital rectal exam and PSA blood test were offered at the screening. There were 83 participants and the results are as follows:
Of the 83 participants:
- Three had an abnormal Digital Rectal Exam
- Seven had abnormal PSA results
- All participants were notified by certified letter and given recommendations for follow up with a primary care physician or urologist
Sky Ridge Medical Center offers this free screening annually to encourage men in our community to take advantage of this live-saving service.
