In the EMS Community

Douglas County led the way for an emergency planning drill that began with a hijacking. A mock hijacking that is.

  • Saline CoolerSky Ridge partners with the South Denver Heart Center Foundation to donate Saline Coolers to local EMS Agencies.

Providers of Emergency Medical Services throughout Douglas County were presented with seven ice-cold saline coolers, to aid in life-saving techniques. Sky Ridge Medical Center was represented by Steve Heinz, MD, Chair of emergency medicine and Garrett Chism, EMS & Trauma Manager. The South Denver Heart Center Foundation is responsible for advancing cardiac care to residents in the south Denver metro area.

Castle Rock EMS Saline Cooler Donation

  • Sky Ridge EMS and Castle Rock Fire partner to create a State-of-the-Art Performance Improvement Program (PI).

Castle Rock Fire wanted to launch a PI program so they looked to Sky Ridge for guidance and support. The Sky Ridge EMS team worked diligently to put together a customized “Standard of Care” for Castle Rock and in doing so created a uniform program that has since been implemented statewide. Garrett Chism, EMS & Trauma Manager at Sky Ridge, was also invited to present the program at the national EMS conference in Las Vegas. Our focus has been to solidify relationships in the EMS community by giving back and demonstrating how powerful these partnerships can be. Ultimately, we are hoping to affect EMS performance improvement on a national level.
