How to Prepare for a Bone Scan
There are no restrictions for a bone scan. It is beneficial to drink a lot of fluids before, during and after the bone scan. Try to avoid wearing metal (large broaches, large belt buckles, and excess jewelry) if possible.
Feel free to bring an MP3/portable music player or your favorite CD (we have a CD player).
If the patient has had recent imaging (X-rays, CT, MRI, PET), it is a good idea to bring a copy of the report. If it’s possible to bring the images on a CD, this is even more beneficial to correlate with the bone scan interpretation by the radiologist.
