Myocardial Perfusion Imaging
This nuclear medicine stress exam is used to evaluate the distribution of blood flow within the heart muscle. It is commonly used for individuals that have:
- Known heart disease
- A strong family history of heart disease
- An abnormal electrical rhythm (EKG)
- If someone is unable to walk on a treadmill for some reason
