What to Expect During a Renal Mag3 Imaging Study
Upon arrival to the imaging department, an I.V. will be placed in your hand or arm. You will lie on the imaging table and carefully positioned. The Mag3 is then injected and a sequence of images will be obtained for 40 minutes. In some cases, it may be necessary to inject a diuretic (Lasix) at the 20 minute mark during the imaging. It is extremely important to limit your movement during the 40 minute imaging.
